There is no greater feeling than the one that comes with giving back to those less fortunate, which is exactly why we ensure we do what we can to help when we can.
For Easter, we decided to treat S’thandokuhle, our unofficially adopted creche in the Inanda Valley to another surprise! This time it was in the form of a brand-new stove – on our previous visit we noticed that they only had a two-plate stove in their office, and decided to raise funds through our donations unit to buy the crèche a new stove. It was well worth it, and we were so happy to see the joy emanating from the teachers as we surprised them.
S’thandokuhle crèche has been developing steadily this year, as it was recently painted, and will receive a brand new crafted bookcase and books from the team at Robin Hood Foundation. StorTown sponsored this bookcase, and we are incredibly supportive of the great work that is done by that organisation – through their ‘Love to Read’ campaign they have given inspiration to the crèche’s teachers at the crèche to bring life to their storytelling lessons, and given the little ones at this crèche the creative potential to thrive and learn quicker through these storybooks.
We would like to help this crèche develop a thriving vegetable garden on their property, if you know of anyone that can assist, please contact us here.
