Celebrating Mandela Day with breakfast on the go…

Nelson Mandela dedicated 67 years of his life to making the world a better place. Every year, on 18 July, South Africans are encouraged to spend just 67 minutes making the world a better place for other South Africans.

One of the greatest things about this special day? You don’t have to do something earth-shattering to make a difference in someone’s life. Even the smallest action can brighten up someone’s day and make them feel better, braver, or more valued.

This year for Mandela Day, we joined the Chilli Source team for an early morning wake-up call. Have you seen the workers walking to walk every in the morning? They often have to go long distances in the cold and the dark to get to work on time. We decided to brighten their Mandela Day with some sweet breakfast treats and coffee on the go.

It was great to be treated to big smiles, thank you’s, and happy faces as we handed out our breakfast goodie bags. And giving of our time to do so felt like the perfect way to start the day and honour Madiba’s memory.

    Well done, StorTown!!
I think this was a WONDERFUL idea for Mandela Day, serving those people who travel kilometres to work and so often are the only bread winners in the family. They deserve a treat – thank you!! These are the people who so often go without putting their family first.
